In de neus vooral veel gesteente, citrusfruit, boenwas, bloemen. In de smaak grapefruit, peer, mineralen. Ondanks de stevige zuren toch zacht, bijna romig, en filmend in de mond. Goede concentratie, mediumlang tot lange afdronk.

Silvery lemon color. Smoke on the nose. Really lovely contrast between honeyed green apple and ripe fruit, on the one hand, and minerality on the other. Distinctive taste.

Appearance: Clear, pale lemon. Nose: clean, fully developed orchard fruit. Palate: Dry, low alcohol, medium+ bodied, medium+ intensity pear, baked apple, and a pleasant warm greeness near the end. Medium+ finish length. Very good quality. At peak. Drink soon. Screw top closure. 13% abv. (D 6.5, F 5.5; FW, SW; Pine)

Nothing about it would suggest its' terrior. Tasted blind against 2 south African and later had the joly coulee blind against an older mortgensen. It did not stand out Dry, good fruit. No wool or hay. A clean chenin.

This wine is a real treat, especially for those that are stuck on Chardonnay. Exceptional for its purity, this is a Chenin Blanc that brings crystalline aromas that are backed by an almost musky note that is permeated by hints of marzipan and gentle acacia scents.
Speaking of purity, on the palate this vintage serves up an immediate shot of acidity that frames everything that follows, especially the hints of green apple and minerals that add tremendous character to this lovely effort.
Not necessarily a classic wine, but how many truly are? This is an outstanding effort that offers a ton of character and is well worth seeking out.

Medium-full Savennières nose of firm sheep cheese, apple, pear, parafin, and cool white stone. This shows good presence on the palate, with firm acidity, a slightly waxy and medium-full mouthfeel, hints of wooly funk and gingery spice, and good lift. Not terribly complex at this point and a bit short on the finish; this will need a few more years to evolve.

Lemon, honey, mineral, and musk on the nose. Bone dry and firm on the palate, with lemon, lime, pear, and stone. Improves with air. Good stuff.

Still very fresh for a 2006 with a nice minerality. Citrus and melon fruit end with a decent finish.
