Some bricking at the edges. Shared with friends. My last bottle of Nils Venge's wines from this era. Still had good fruit and a big nose of tobacco, leather, menthol and fig. Still had good mature fruit, dried cherry, fig, with savory secondary flavors on the finish. A very enjoyable bottle of aged California Cab.

Drinking well. Enough acid and tannin that this is better with food. I PNP out of the cellar and this definitely improved with air and as it warmed and closer to room tempature. Still well structured, lots of earth and black tea, some red fruit.
Edit: wonderful on day 2, nose of mint and lavander.

Nice nose, good color just starting to see some brown edges. Solid tannins and complexity but not real strong. Drinking nicely right out of the bottle but did better with a bit of air. Holding up well but likely nearing the back portion of it's drinking window. Drink up and enjoy, these are my last bottles.

A very nice Cab, just what you are looking for. Nice color, great nose, smooth tannins, complexity and structure, nice mouth feel with a smooth long finish.

Outstanding wine in it's prime and drinks best after 1.5 hours in the decanter. Overall, tasting experience in line with my notes from last August. Great, fresh, bright red fruit, a supple, puckery character, with refined yet firm tannins on the finish. Delicate yet stubborn, graceful yet gritty, definitely 'old school' and I love it. Went great with a savory chicken stir-fry and rice. Drink now - 2021.

Drinking awesome after a 3-hour decant. Paired with filet, grilled potatoes, and mixed arugula salad. Dark, cloudy, crimson color with purple hues, throwing tons of sediment. Musty nose brings a burst of sharp, ripe raspberries, some strawberries, mocha, caramel, cherry menthol, sweet tobacco, and notes of mint and eucalyptus. The palate is medium-to-full, very supple and gritty, bringing ripe cherries, more raspberries, red hard candy, hints of blackberries, herbs, leather, milk chocolate, and ends with chocolate cherries, cinnamon, and rhubarb flowing into a smooth, delicate finish. Tannins fading but still firm. The acidity is still strong and potent, along with the red fruit. Drink now-2021.

Pleasantly surprised....excellent-outstanding. Still very fresh. Light bricking near the edges in addition to a clear rim, a little bit of cigar and smoke on the nose. Decanted, plenty of sediment. Palate is medium bodied and extremely smooth...most of the tannin has subsided, still a decent amount of cassis and dark fruit on the palate, as well as a touch of oak. Elegant, but still some depth. Exceeded expectations.

Floral aromas, deep purple and garnet color - full forward flavors of black berry, hints of blueberry and raspberry turning to oak, mocha and a subtle creme de cassis on a moderate fine tannin finish. Lots of life, more than I expected in this still vibrant 13 year old Oakville Cabernet.

Wow - when I thought it wasn't getting better. This was wonderful tonight. Bricking on the rim. Rich raspberries & cassis buried in nice & velvety tanins surrounded by cedar, cigar box and black pepper. Medium long finish.

An excellant wine that opens up in about 15 minutes and keeps getting better.
A deep dark inky purple that fades to a brick & cherry red around the edges. A nose of cassis, violets, grain leather & cedar. Nice ripe full bodied blackberry & cassis fruit upfront followed by vanilla leather & some firm tannins in cedar box for a medium long finish.

An excellant wine that will run for many more years. A deep dark inky purple that fades to a brick & cherry red around the edges. A nose of cassis, leather & oak. Nice blackberry & cassis upfront but very subtle followed by vanilla leather & some firm tannins for a medium long finish. It was very good straight from the bottle but after 15 minutes really opened up and sang. This was a very good wine that will go for another 5 years if not 10.

Structured, fully mature Napa Cab. Some nice dark rich fruit but not overly concentrated. Good amounts of oak with some pretty firm tannins. Short to medium length finish.. Tasted best right from the beginning, then the fruit slowly receded over the next four hours. I’d say give it fifteen minutes and that’s all it needs.
