PNP - good fill level, cork came out in one piece, some signs of seepage. Initially strong aroma of soy, barnyard, prune. Palate thin initially relative to big nose, a little tart red fruit, some menthol, kind of lacking in the mid palate. Maybe not the best bottle. Will try again in an hour.

Decanted for 2 hours and then consumed over 3 hours. Not a wow wine right out of the bottle for me, but clearly was showing lots of potential good structure, but the fruit was reticent. The last glass was the best as the fruit emerged a bit more and the tobacco/graphite/herb was there as well, although the tannins were still a bit overpowering, and the flavors weren't fully integrated. I would love to try this again in 5 years.
I drank along side the 2011 Belair-Monange which was more open and integrated and overall pleasant, but one could tell the Figeac had much more potential.
note: opened this the same day it was delivered from a local wine merchant, about 30 min away, delivered by car..

Delicious! Fruit / tannin / acid all still in balance. Beautiful cork. Got lucky! (PNP)
