No notes taken. Decanted 1 hr. Perfect provenance. Big body 3% milk. Excellent big red fruits and some spice and forest floor. Long finish. Reminds me a bit of Santa Barbara CA juice and very NZ smooth. 90 pts. Great now and can likely cellar a few more yrs Easily.

I sat the bottle upright for a day in the cellar and decanted for an hour. The sediment settled to the bottom. It had a much more cleaner ruby red color. It had aroma's of red fruit and strawberries...balanced, very smooth...somewhat silky and clean.

It was light ruby and cloudy on the edges. It had aroma's of red fruit and strawberries. It was balanced, smooth, light and had a medium finish. It was a very good Pinot Noir. It had a significant amount of sediment.

Good heavens, this smelled more of Burgundy than some Burgundies I've had lately. It's all dirt and mushroom on the nose for this bottle. Light in body, with a fairly silky mouthfeel bringing a slight tartness - maybe cranberry fruit - along with some stemminess to accompany the earthy qualities. If you like really ripe fruit it may disappoint, but I found this the most interesting of the three I have had. 89-90

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Light brick red color. Sweeter this time - more strawberry on the nose rather than cherry. Strawberry all day on the palate, with some mint and a little minerality. Great food wine. 89 pts again. Aloha!

I enjoyed all 4 bottles of this but each one left me with a different impression, ranging wonderful to "just ok." If this was tasted against 10 California Pinots, this one could definitely be picked out of the lineup as the one from N.Z. My comments are mostly consistent with the others -- it is Burgundian in style, and the color is a negative, but overall I'm happy to have had it. I don't think it will improve much with age though -- I would say drink up.

Opened after getting back from canoeing for a couple of hours. Tastes wonderful and glad that I have two more. Very pleasant taste, the color is not wonderful, but I am more interested in the taste.

Terrible. Acidic. Barest hint of dry cherry that was over-run by vinegar. Not a "corked" bottle. Either very inconsistent in bottling or this one does not last. I have two other bottles; if they are better, I will adjust this score.

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Brick red color. Cherries, spice and mint on the nose. Cherries and spice on the palate, with mild tannins. Well balanced. A PN with a slight kick. Really enjoyed this one. Wish I had more. A steal at <$19. 89+pts. Aloha!

Okay, it comes out of the bottle into the glass looking almost like it had been watered-down or cut with cognac, with a nose of cherry and wood. Then it startles you with a wonderful, velvety feel that you would not expect. Still mostly just very dry cherry, old forest floor, wood and some light smoke, but perfectly in balance. A total delight. I would have rated this a 92 or 93 were it not for the color.

Awesome aroma. Needs to decant for a few minutes only, as there is a slight "woody" scent when first opened. Afterwards, dried leaves, cherry, and slightly sweaty (in a good way) aroma and full balanced soft tannins. Short finish though.

Pretty decent QPR at $18. More of a burgundian colour, very pale. Decent varietal flavours, none of the California Pinot flat cola taste, thankfully.

Fairly standard Pinot Noir from New Zealand, minimal fruit forward, and slight bitter in finish.
