Blind at Auggie's: Pear, white peach, green apple, lime, lemon, radish, white pepper, asparagus; mineral-stones, citrus blossom; dry, med+ acid, med. alc, med. - body. I think I guessed Pinot Grigio--seemed very clean to me (someone else picked out pepper and greens).

First Gruner I've ever tasted so I have no idea what to expect. Nose of green apple and lemon zest. Medium palate with green apple acidity and lime but tart at the end with a slight feeling of bubbly right before the finish which is dry and short. I can get used to this as an alternative to Vinho Verde in summer. Will look to explore more Gruners in the future.

On the light side, but that's not necessarily bad. Pure and simple aromas of snap pea, lime zest and mineral. Juicy and zippy in the mouth but could use more concentration and verve.

•The Stuff: 100% Gruner Veltliner from Fred Loimer in Kamptal Austria 12.5%ABV •The Swirl: Presented a nice bright yellow apple color with mild amounts of sediment •The Sniff: Very mild on the nose with tart apples and dull banana peel •The Sip: A decent sweetness on the front end that was attacked by a tart bitterness at the end. The finish trailed off quickly. Someone bubbly in the mouth. •The Score: At under $10, some may like this wine for its dry tartness. I score this a 2 out of 5

bubble gum, banana and potpourri on the nose. sweet and fruity on the palate with a tart and bitter finish that reminds me of citrus peel.

Green apples, lime, tart & crisp, short finish. Refreshing spring/summer wine, but no complexity. Just OK

Wine Blogger's Conference 2010 - Opening Tasting (Wine Blogger's Conference, Walla Walla, Washington): The nose is very light with faint notes of apples and something floral peeking out. The acidity is crisp, and light flavors of apples and limes appear but never become very full.

Very enjoyable Gruner. Excellent earthy minerality and juicy acidity. A touch off n the finish but lovely all together.

Very gruner and red apple fruit to the wine. Its frankly a great expression of the grape at $12.99.
