Really really good. Strawberries and red cherries come to the fold. So fine balanced, with a great velvety finish that just keeps on going. A great example of what a 20+ year Burgundy is all about. Sadly my last two of this particular wine. Drink now.

Brambles and blackberry, earth, mushrooms, leather, touches of clay/mineral notes, chalky tannins are quite stony, tight and grippy, savoury/meaty notes, touches of forest floor. S'okay.

Coravin fun - Burgundy (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Aromas of bazaar spices; sumac; ras el hanout initially, leather, earth, red over blackberry fruit is in the background but grows with time. in the mouth it has slightly sour red and black fruit, talc textured leather burr tugs at the mid palate, those spices are more muted on the palate. Hmm

Christmas Day 2022 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. A little bonfire, earthy, red berry and red currant, a touch of smoked bacon fat. Juicy, fleshy, wild red berries and red currant, slight burr on the mid palate. Balanced. Nice.

NobleRottersSydney - Blind pinot & burg (Fix, St James, Sydney): cork, 13%} [Aaron] Bricking garnet; looking its age. Same goes for nose and palate; meaty, compost and earth-like aromas follow onto the slightly medicinal palate. Low dusty tannins, tremblingly high acidity, a touch volatile. Well evolved on the palate; a bit flat I felt though, and with a short/medium rather astringent finish. Maybe a decant would have helped?

Pleasing and fresh despite it's age. dark hued fruits, sous bois, firm tannins on the mid palate, a sense of wetness is alleviated by a touch of breadth. Yum.

Bouquet displays secondary characteristics of earth & minerals. Still some fruit on the palate however this finish is very dry with a slight astringency to it. Not sure if this was just a poor bottle or if its past its best

Medium red colour - still looking relatively young for a 12 year old Beaune.
Great aromas and flavours - raspberry, cedar, game, tobacco and a really nice spread of spice on the back palate. Nicely developed but has at least another decade left.

Good nose of raspberry liqueur, crushed blackberries, tobacco and leather. Not long on the palate but balanced with firm acidity, very fine tannins ,drinking well and will hold for some time

Very good, just starting to mature. Complex, serious, refined.
