  • Blanco supplied for our French wine dinner at CKH. Nose of red fruit, some must, some forest floor/barnyard. Nice flavors of red berries and spice on the palate, with good acidity and commensurate weightiness. Nice enough burg but less compelling than one would expect of a grand cru in terms of complexity, balance, and sophistication.

  • This wine welcomes in the Autum season.
We had 6 pretty classic wines, I think the nose on this excelled.
Nose of autum leaves, crisp in the air, roses still vying for dominance. Lots of depth.
This wine was ready to go from the beginning. Maintained strength for several hours. Palate was cherry, quite bitter pit, not lush.

I love this wine for the nose. Takes me elsewhere.

  • Lovely red-fruited nose with a bit of forrest floor. This has certainly put on some weight over the last couple of years. It might lack some depth and complexity for a grand cru but it is very tasty. Fresh and elegant.

  • Brickish color, but still vibrant, super floral nose, good fresh fruits, and integrated, quite subtle and complex, integrated. Generous out of the gate, was very open after 1-2 hours in the decanter. May lack that multi dimension and a tad short on the finish, but sure offers pleasure. Very nice. Early prime spot.

  • This needs 90 min to open up. Light bodied, medium balance, average finish, no heat. Average value. Should reach prime in 3-5 years and last another 10.

  • Tea Brown, leaves a trace of carbonation at the bottom of the glass. I consider that a major flaw and have rarely been able to get past that in the past. Having any sort of fizz in a still red wine really steals from the experience. Carbonation seems to present a belchy like aroma.

Gets a lot better with swirling and swishing, but somehow I don't think I need to be doing this with Grand Cru Burgundy. The nose starts to integrate after about an hour, smoke, intense strawberries. palate is burly, clumsy, extremely acidic, raspberries, some tree sap.

Nowhere near the quality of the last bottle I enjoyed. Welcome Autumn!

  • Held it's own as a solid bottle of wine, very nice!

  • Drinked at the dijon fine heure wine bar for 79 euros. At the beginning, a little too of woods and a little austere. But with the time, opening up, showing more prune and cherry tastes. Long finish. Good masculin wine!

  • Drank together with 2006 Belair. wow, this one is much more fruity. Great nose with very fruity scent (different from Australia ones). Body is lighter than Belair, but boy.. very pleasant body. this is probably the best pinot noir I have drank and I do start to appreciate the grand cru wine. Based on the rating here in the forum, i didnt expect much. but i have to say it is a great wine.

  • Fine, balanced, elegant, complex, classic fragrant pinot nose with red berries, and also some dark fruits. Good acidity. Still young. Finish with medium length and lot's of red berries. Nice Echezeaux but not as complex as Echezeaux can be.

  • Pure bright red fruits aromas and some forest floor. This is really a 2007 being on the lighter side and without the deepness you would normally expect from this vineyard but it is so velvety and has so much clean and pure fruit. It drinks incredibly good already.

  • Nose upon opening is so delicate, floral. Appears translucent. Could read a newspaper through the pour. I love the roses, Strawberries, "autum leaves". definiy a fall autum wine.

Totally enjoyed by all, best upon opening and in 1 st hour, but still great at the end or the night. Ready to drink and held its own. Don't have loads of experience in this region, but really was enjoyable, and if this represents what an entry level eschezauX burg can do, then wowzers.

  • Forward and open knit with aromas of brown sugar, smoked meats, autumnal leaves, lilies and red berries. It is sweet and lacy in the mouth with a nice balance of sweet and savoury elements. It perhaps just lacks a touch of stuffing and cut to be considered really Good Grand Cru but it is very tasty.

  • Initial primary experience is one of rich, peppery, spice and a very generous floral nose. Noticeable tannins, yet they are interestingly complex and suave. Cherry notes present themselves after about 15 minutes. Initial fragrant and floral aromas, and palate richness, unfortunately fade considerably after 30 minutes. Wine wimps out to little more than a generic Burgundy within an hour. Would recommend not letting it breathe that long after opening. A very good, but not outstanding, Echezeaux.

  • Lots of great spice, supple red fruit, a touch of sweet softness and sweet oak in the M-M style. Lithe and far less extracted than wines from 8-10 years ago at this domaine. A good middleweight wine from good terroir in a "purists" year yields an inviting, spicy middleweight. Certainly not a tremendous example of what Echezeaux can be but at closeout prices this is a very enjoyable bottle for short to mid term drinking.

  • Had this wine with good friends at Commander's Palace in New Orleans. Nice ruby color. Within seconds of the pour, I knew this would be a good one with floral and light cherry notes on a very fragrant nose. Light bodied with excellent acidic balance. Light cherry flavor with a bit of minerality and a tart finish. Everybody enjoyed this wine.

  • Clean and pure pinot fruit. Started to open up about an hour after the bottle was uncorked. Nice bottle to drink while '02 and '05 bottles are still sleeping. Definitely would drink this bottle for its fruit and not cellar for too long.
