Pale gold. Clean, still fresh. Fruit has thinned out though without a great increase in complexity to go with that. Great acidity. Some green vegetables, bit of gooseberry. Completely OK but better a few years ago.

Drank at the same time as a bottle of Floridene Sec 2010. Very much the same style, but fuller and richer without losing the wonderful, refreshing pure drinkability. Bravo!

Deep Straw gold. Orange blossom and honeycomb on the nose. Medium-light body. Explosive palate of orange fruit and green straw. Mouthwatering acidity deftly cloaked in a creamy finish. Awesome with and in chicken and cream sauce.

This is in a really good place right now and I'm not sure that it is going to get a lot better. I see that Jancis Robinson says drink by 2012. Not sure I agree with that but if you have any of this, best to be getting on with it. On opening, lemon and almond. Fruit not showing strongly but very long finish. Not as complex as I remembered. 15 minutes later - grapefruit! and maybe some lime. Much fuller and more interesting. Fresh and almost green, with some cut grass on the nose. Good and very very long in the mouth. Nearly 91 and I bet some bottles will be worth that.

White/Green hues with plenty of citrusy aromas and flavors oozing out of the glass and on the palate. After about 30 minutes, gets a bit fatter and rounder, but keeps the lean, bright, citrusy notes throughout. Great with fresh asparagus and lemon butter.

Less than a year ago I thought that this wine would take a lot more time, but i opened another last night and it is in a very good stage of it's evolution right now. Starts with a big attack of sweetish fruit that changes in the mouth to grapefruit acidity - beautifully balanced and a joy to drink. Bravo. Should we look for the 2012s, perhaps?

I opened a bottle of this just to see where it had got to, and will not be opening another for two or three years. It started with negligible nose and quite acidic, so I put it into a decanter and left it for 3 hours, after which it had filled out and was becoming something recognisable. I have memories of the 2001 which was stupendous; this will be nothing like that but with time, decanting and not being too cold may be a decent drink. Too early to rate it.

Light greeny gold. Lovely fresh nettle and gooseberry, but fresh and tart versions. Following through with a honeyed elegance. White light spring flowers. Great lively acidity. Good length, clean finish. Lovely wine, perfect for a warm summer day's lunch.

Lots of tropical fruit on nose. Esp gooseberry and citrus. Grapefruit is dominant flavour on the palate. Crisp and fresh. Hint of oak on the finish. Good effort.

Weekend in Rome; 11/4/2011-11/6/2011 (Rome, Italy): Aromatic, open on the nose, starts off very well. Some unbalanced elements on the palate and a few bitter notes. Good sweetness and acidity and stays with you for like 2 minutes. 88

Sauvignon Blanc. Tasted at Zachy's Union des Grand Crus de Bordeaux's 2008 Bordeaux Vintage Tasting @ Metropolitan Pavilion. May not be doing this wine any justice w/my low rating (just not my style of wine).

I'm of two minds. An admirably well-made wine with excellent concentration and length; grass/lemongrass, grapefruit and exotic fruit (gooseberry among other things) -- and possibly a tiny hint of dry botrytis? But then it has almost a new-world character to it in the brightness of the flavors and a reasonable (but not unpleasant) dose of oak. It's saved in the end by not being too heavy. I would either drink this with a starter calling for a sharply acidic white, like ceviche, or stick it away for 10 years to see what it becomes.

Wine dinner with work colleagues (Medlar, Chelsea, London): Vibrant, gushingly fruited passion fruit and melon palate, finishing with a more classic sauvignon nettle tone. Modern but exciting.

Grapefruit and lemon, and high acidity. There’s good ripe, bright fruit notes. A gastronomic wine.
93 Points.... for 100% Sauvignon from a Chateau that is more famous for its fabulous Sauternes.
