Archétype d’un bon St Emilion classique. Bel équilibre dominé par les fruits noirs. Tanins bien fondus.

Typical of its time and place, this is high octane St.Emilion, quite smooth and almost elegant, but with fruit which veers towards a liqueur taste and quite a hot finish. I've had worse examples.

Tasted next to 2015. Floral, good fruit, nicely evolved on nose and palate. Soft tannins, decent acidity, quite simple but nice and ready to drink. 87-89

Appearance: Bright and clear, it has medium ruby color, with fading rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (-) intensity aromas of black fruit such as plum and blackberry, some red fruit of ripe cherries, oak notes of cedar, sweet spice of clove, hints of maturity notes of game. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin which is a bit bitter and powdery, with medium (+) alcohol and medium body. It has medium flavors of black fruit such as blackberry and plum, oak notes of cedar, sweet spice of clove, kernel notes of coffee. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Acceptable quality St-Emilion showing a rather unimpressive nose, a bit weak on intensity and fairly simple, the wine has a nicer palate comparatively, with more concentration, more balanced flavors but still a bit on the simple side, plus having a reasonable length on the finish. It is ready to drink now and not supposed for further ageing, but can maintain for another 2-3 years.

Coffee bean, earth, herbs and red berry aromas make up the perfume. On the palate, the wine is soft, open and focuses on its cherry core. Drink now, or age it for a year or two.

UGC Bordeaux Tasting (Boston): Meatier wine. A little riper then some of the others, as well. Lighter bodied, doesn't have that richness, the sexiness. Still nice, just different. 87-89

This wine opens with cherry, coca and coffee flavors. Medium bodied with a hint of green from under ripeness, the wine ends with a kirsch filled finish.

Bordeaux 2008 (Bordeaux): A more substantial palate, good structure and taste with rich notes of plum and cherry and spice. Not so complex but certainly pleasurable û barrel age will improve this one. 88-91

no reason to complain about this wine but no reason either to be particularly enthusiastic about it. Time to drink it

A lot of coffee oak notes on nose, together with slightly perfumed fruits. A bit tart and tomatoey on the palate. 87
