  • Nicely balanced, sweet off-dry Riesling from the always excellent Felton Road, Bannockburn (NZ).

Feels and tastes like a German Riesling. Its sweet lime, honey and green apples sitting nicely with some spicy zing, steel, creaminess and some florals. There's a quartz-like fresh cut upfront. But that quickly gives way to an oily, sweet mid palate, and a fine (if short) breezy finish that has a touch of dry chalkiness to it.

I loved the sweet honeyed, citris zing. The unctuousness. And fresh, dry finish. I'd have loved some more zip from the acidity. Maybe this was there in its earlier days. Nonetheless, it's an interesting, well made food wine that would make a perfect end to a meal. Drink 2011-2019. A Wozza 91/100 (3.4/5.0) for me.

  • Decent wine. Rich, dense, ripe lime fruit. Maybe a touch cloying on the mid palate with all the sugar. Acidity comes thru on the finish. It's a big n bold one though.

  • Drunk last month, it showed excellent purity, citrus, minerality.

  • Some less than glowing reviews for this wine on CT so far but it's certainly one that I've enjoyed this evening. Yes it has plenty of RS, 53g/l apparently but the wine remains light on its feet and retains verve with a tingling acidity. Citrus, lime, grapefruit, pineapple dominate the flavour spectrum and there's a mere whiff of kerosene on the finish. This is enjoyable Riesling and there's no hurry to drink up, this has plenty of development to come.

  • Showing very Spatlese-y tonight. Lovely alluring wine that would be perfect if it had a chunk of glaring, shining minerality in it.

  • The nose was reserved showing wet stone, a hint of funk and floral notes. On the palate, it was juicy with balanced acidity and a forward kiss of sweetness with a distinct flavor of lemon curd. The finish lasted long with sweet & sour lemon notes lingering on the palate.

  • This is great, what an alluring nose, and okay: I will admit Central Otago as a legit source of Riesling. Nice balance of RS and acid, like a good estate Riesling from Germany. A pleasure.

  • lots of fruit, lacking acidity for the level of RS... not a great effort, was OK with a Thai dinner.

  • Mrs loves it...just a smidge too sweet for my tastes but I can absolutely see the appeal...lively floral fruity nose..candied pineapple and peaches on the palate with a long finish....nice acidity that very nearly tames the sugar...just not quite for me....

    Pale greenish yellow color, clear.
The nose is a bit tight with aromas of lime+, zest+, soap, dust, white flowers and vanilla.
Nice smooth texture, a bit oily. Great fruit (very NZ): kiwi+, lemon++, pineapple, pink grapefruit). A little sweetness well balanced by the razor sharp but fine mouth-watering acidity. This wine makes you want to sip it!
