  • Decanted two hours. Full bioded with expressive notes of sweat blackcurrent jam, underwood notes, sap and bitterness of bloody orange. Nice enhnace with aeration. Slightly unbalance on the side of alcohol, but in winter it is not a problem face to a nice complexity. Amaron like, with its notes of black chocolate and coffee.

  • Dark notes of chocolate and Blackberries jam. mouth sweat, fine tannins, old prunes and sap, close to an amarone in the style. extracted, need a bit of air. Ending on coffee. Appreciable in winter. Quite shy after opening.

  • Still very good but it has become too port-like for my pleasure. I did not decant which was a mistake!

  • The alcohol is very present now and it has become port-like. The fruit is still very rich with dark forest fruit and the mouthfeel very savoury but I am coming to the conclusion that these wines are not made for ageing and should be drunk very young in their primary voluptuousness. Same goes for CDP!

  • Open one day before, 3/4 of the bottle left, because of a presumption of a temporary muted time. Woaw, now this wine is open. Supple texture, creamy and jamy blackberries and blackcurrant. Smooth tannins, elegant. Full bodied. This wine is a closed period, decantation is essential. But I don't know how long. Perhaps after 24h it was on the way down. Anyway it is a jewel. My buddy Cpt Cutlass was right: a lightning star.

  • Pop up and pour. Nice bloody hue. Nose of cherries and kirsch. Mouth very fruity of cherries, blackberries and almonds . Globally it is sweaty wine (a dry wine, yes but) elegant and smooth. Medium bodied. Will turn obviously on black olives in few years.Quite far from the stratospheric ratings of my best buddie : capt cutlass. Wine is alive and perhaps caracteriel.

  • 14,50% alc., dichtes Granatrot. Seit drei Tagen geöffnet.
    In der Nase Blut und dunkelrote Früchte, durchaus frisch-fruchtiger Eindruck;
    Am Gaumen kraftvoll und dicht, einigermaßen heiß (Alk), sehr präsent, bringt am Gaumen keine zusätzlichen Eindrücke, Tannine sind bemerkbar, aber nicht störend, der Wein hat sicherlich einiges Lager- und hoffentlich Entwicklungspotential, geht insgesamt durchaus in Ordnung, spielt aber nicht in der oberen Liga. Hitziger, mittellanger Abgang.

  • This isn't 96 point wine. This is quite good though, very full and dark without being heavy. Lacks the depth or complexity that a wine over 90 points would have.

  • Dark and ominous in the glass. The nose a complex mix of black pepper and black cherries, almost sweet. Licorice. All the finesse of the old world with all the fruit of the new world. The tannins are 2007, drop the 2... James Bond smooth. Fruit forward, but not like being bludgeoned by a basket of cherries. Ripe fruit, tobacco, earth, licorice. Long finish. I don't think this wine stands to improve with age, good now through 3 years, 5 max.

  • plums, ripe cherries, kirsch, peppery, expansive nose blends with the sweet oak. Supple tannins with a gentle grip, a touch resiny, chewy, dark chocolate leads to a bitter cocoa finish. Very much a young wine which will evolve but with carafe time immensely enjoyable for those who love big supple fruit.

  • One of Languedoc's best at an affordable price! Big, voluptuous, fruit driven nose and taste. Velvety seamless tannins, new world style Languedoc par excellence; new oak is very present but blends harmoniously with the massive ripe dark fruits which along with tasty mocha notes endure long after your glass is empty. Gorgeous on its own but perfect with strong-flavoured dishes (meat or game and dark, rich sauces). Tasting fabulous already - this may be a vintage to drink in the first 5 years unlike all previous years which typically shut down after the initial fruit phase. Enjoy the 2007 while you let the other Ultreia's come of age in your cellar.
