So good! Red cherry fruits with ash tray, spice and mushroom overtones on the nose. Fresh tart red cherries with a dark, smokey component atop fine tannins and crisp acidity. Lip smacking good.

Really nice after it opened up. Redder flavors at first, with some darker notes emerging in time. Smooth and round on the palate but not flabby, there was good acidity present. Seems to be at or near peak right now.

Not profound, no great adjectives for the nose, but just about a perfect wine for a relaxed evening with simple food. This has aged into a very nice place, fully in balance with fruit and some secondary notes on the nose and palate. It does not have the depth, or the flavor profile, of a one of the very top examples from burgundy, but it is a great example from Verglesses, and a really pleasant wine to spend an evening with.

Garnet colored. Aromas of dark berry, flowers and mint. Tartness of sour cherry with surprising tannic structure. The other bottles were more advanced but this one reads young. I don't know if this will ever be more complex but certainly a very nice wine at a good price.

Drinking in very nice spot right now. The fruits were juicy, and earthy - a great combination in my eyes. Elegant floral notes gave the palate an airy feel to it, too. Very good wine that is probably drinking close to its peak.

Library release. A bit tight on the first day, with dark fruit notes and a reticent nose. Drank better on the second day with lighter fruit notes and a more open nose. I am guessing will improve with a few years time. Leave go until 2015.

Nose of saddle leather, black and red cherry, allspice, and briar after a summer shower, more of the same on the palate, delicious with roasted chicken, medium/big body, at its peak, drink up, sipped and savored, long, long finish.

Popped and poured. Ruby red with very slight bricking. Dark fruit on the nose, tight palate with cherry, leather, stones. Good acidity. bit sour on the otherwise clean finish. Good now, works best with food. A lot going on, might well improve with time.

Medium red. The was some leather and dark fruit on the nose that was muted and relatively static over a two hour period. On the palate, the wine was stony and chewy. Integrated acidity and fine tannins were pleasant but overall the wine was a disappointment in terms of complexity and pleasure. Perhaps it is over the hill. I recently enjoyed a 2002 from the same vineyard made by Chandon de Briailles that was singing. Hmmm. Only one left so I will wait t a few years and see if anything changes.

Really lovely nose of sweet spices, red fruits and minerals. Delicious on the palate. A little tighter than the previous bottle, suggesting that this could do with a couple of more years of cellartime.

Good, not great, though a near perfect pairing with roast chicken. Comes across as a bit young, though not as much as I might have expected. Perhaps the wine will be more expressive in a couple of years?

Very different styled pinot. Nose showed some clear red fruit, strawberries and cherries mostly. Some slight earth and mushroom starting to show. A very intense mint note was showing all the way from when we fisrt opened it to the last sip. This gave it a very fresh character which was nice but stealed some points on the pairing with the roasted duck.

This has gained a little in complexity since the ladt bottle but the tannins remain quite firm. Good now but suspect this is still going to improve.

Red fruit (cherry, raspberry), nice acidity. Spice. Lingering finish. Slight tannins. Needs air. A little reserved on first night; more open on 2nd.

Quite nice. Tannins resolved, acidity was adequate, some secondary characteristics. The only nit was a slight bitterness on the finish.

Tasty with nice dark red fruits. Enjoyable with roasted chicken but little acidity remaining. Cannot see any improvement from here. Drink up.

Drinking well, nice balance and some good dark fruit notes. Not a lot of acid, not sure how much longer this will go.

No notes, but drank well over the weekend in Maine, worked best with food. Rounding toward a good drinking window to my palate.

Delicious, yet rustic. Nice secondary flavours and good development in the glass. No shame in enjoying at the moment but still some upside.
