very easy drinking lighter than many other Turley's I've had but the alcohol crept up on me and it was without sediment which was nice as many of my older Turley's are loaded

Had the 2007 Mead Ranch the other day for comparison and this one seems to not be aging as gracefully. Still enjoyable but a little muddled. Stewed fruit and braised ox-tail on the nose. Licorice, charcoal, mud in the mouth without much height. Medium length finish of plum skin and dried seaweed. Still a big wine but I sense (without first-hand experience) that it's past its best.

Big red zin on a 95 degree night in Houston. Perfect, right? Actually, served at around 65 out of cellar for a bit of time, this had enough acidity, fruit and lightness of alcohol to drink really well. Brambly crushed berries in the nez, this had a lightness of mouthfeel although substantial pepper, zinberry and hints of sweetness (fruit, not sugar). Finished long, with tons of telicherry pepper and blackberry. I'm pleased.

Lighter in style than most Turleys pre-2008, flavors are blueberry, some cherry, a bit of zitz and pepper on the tongue. Not a great bottle of wine, but solid and certainly a preferable style to many of the older, overdone Turleys. I'm glad Tegan has adopted this style.

Wonderful! Great bright rich fruit and peppery zin nose, huge spice on the palate with lots of dark and red fruits, nice acidity, and surprisingly firm tannins still. Just a bit hot on the finish, but a very nice wine, and could clearly age a bit further (though I doubt it'd get much better).

Dark bramble fruits on the nose, corduroy tannins on the palate. Seemingly well integrated, but didn't survive over night in the fridge. now appears disjointed and a little hot.

15.7% alcohol. Deep, pure and expressive through the nose, entry, mid-palate and aftertaste. Intense, concentrated rasberry and black cherry flavors. A fit of hotness on the finish is the only nit.

Boysenberry, currants and plum on the nose. Dark fruit palate with just a hint of white pepper, dense and complex. Not jammy or heavy. Berry and smoky finish. Monolithic and slightly simple, but well made and balanced. Holds it's alcohol well. Needs time?

Nice Turley wine. The color is a plumish from afar and in the light clear lightish red with light streaks of various shades of red. The legs are long and full bodied. The nose is subtle scents of fruit with light hints of spice, neither of which is pronounced as most (if not all) other varieties of Turley. The taste is more feminine then masculine in the sense that it is not as pronounced or deep as the typical taste of a Turley zin. The taste (at a temperature of what I would say is probably around 60 to 65 degrees) reminds me of red fruit soaked in cola with hints of kirsch and subtle spice. The aftertaste remains for 30 to 45 seconds after the first few sips but increases to 60 plus seconds with later sips. The wine drank well with a meal of Italian sausage cooked on the stove with red onion, red pepper, and oregano, and then all placed (with the juices) on soft rolls with American cheese. Wine tastes pretty much the same after the decorking as it does 3 hours later.

Very nice zin. Let breathe for about two hours. Nose unremarkable. Very nice lush complex dark fruits. Well integrated. Enjoyed.

Easy to drink; not quite as complex as other Turleys; soft tannins and mild spice; good finish.

Medium red fruit, smoke. Well balanced, mellow. No heat. Tastes more like a Brunello than a zin.
