  • Clear medium garnet; clean medium plus nose of balsamic, dried figs, florality and fresh ripe cherries; dry; medium minus tannins; high acidity; medium alcohol; medium body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of silky seductive mint, fresh figs, cigar box and savory herbs; long finish; still incredibly fresh - so many years of development left; drink now or in 10 years

  • Opened at Noble Rot in Mayfair, this bottle presented itself as tremendous value on the wine list. This wine was all about the nose; something I've found myself saying more and more often as of late (and I think there's a note that usually gives it away for me!). Boasting qualities of smoke, cranberries, light cedar wood, licorice, menthol, herbs and a tremendous dark chocolate scent, I found myself reaching to smell the wine and putting the glass down, garnering satisfaction simply from its complex aromatic structure. The palate was clearly advanced as hints of fruit emerged through redcurrants in the upfront, but that quickly transitioned to iron and tobacco in the mid-palate before notes of oak, bell pepper and spices dominated a short finish.

  • At Noble Rot, Mayfair. Double-decanted. Nail polish notes from the onset were quite distracting. Underneath, however, lingers a filigree bed of mushrooms, bright red fruit and sour cherry. Also floral accents keep popping up. There is good tension and nice acidity with the structure fully intact. Unfortunately not as pristine a bottle as the last one, although optically the condition of the bottle was impeccable. But luckily the potential of the previous bottle shone through time and again.

  • Tasted at Noble Rot Mayfair in London. Decanted for 30-60 min which was spot-on. Mushrooms and forest floor. Fruit of strawberry and raspberry, mostly light but also with darker accents. Furthermore smoke, tobacco and sweet spice features. Still fruity palate with some structure but thinning out just slightly. All in all, absolutely magnificent and at its very peak in terms of hedonistic pleasure. Saw this recommended on CT and couldn’t be more happy.

  • Checking in on an old Accad-era wine, and it's turned out quite well. A touch burly but, with air, deep, pretty nose and dense palate.

  • Medium red, lot of body & structure for a 31 yo Burgundy, opened up with air, coffee & dark ripe berries, hard to believe its 31 years old, drank with the 88 Jaboulet Chapelle at London’s Noble Rot, an excellent Burg drunk at kick ass place

  • The wonder of old burgundy. Still quite tight from the bottle but singing after about an hour. Medium ruby, clear with a hint of garnet. Still lots of red fruits at the start, followed by mushrooms. Smooth and easy to drink. Won't improve but still alive. Lots of acidity.

Drink now to 2025 for well stored bottles.
