  • Nice showing. Opens up right away to smokey cherry, later adding red raspberry, and some mentholated cherry on the palate. The tannins are soft and barely there, and the oak is in check. There is a bit of a stretch on the midpalate, where a better wine would have had more depth and richness, but otherwise, this is a lower-end and affordable Barolo that has matured and integrated nicely, and is in a very pleasing place on a Monday night while watching Phish's recent Halloween show.

  • 91, what-have-you. Noticeably better than the bottle last year. Well-integrated, nicely balanced. Great Italian wine. The cork was a little funky, but no worries. I think I have another one left -- drink soon.

  • Not a big, traditional Barolo, but still quite serviceable. Decanted for a little while (30 min) but I am not certain that it needed it. Don't think that any more time in the bottle will help all that much.

  • I do not have a lot of experience tasting Barolo, and so my comments need to be evaluated within this context. I decanted this wine for a while, about 30 minutes before I started drinking it Given all the chatter about Barolos needing age, time, and so forth I was a little concerned about let this wine being too young, etc.

Regardless, the wine drank very well. A balanced, little dusty, old-world, Italian palate, which opened up through the bottle.

Seemed to be pretty ready to go (at least to me). I have a few more, and I will be curious as to how they age over the next few years.

  • Raised cork, soaked all the way through. Nose of camphor, caramel and a port like sweet nutty aroma. The palate is a little thin but still has a good underlying acidity and tartness to it, and shows very fine tannins. Finish is on the short side. Drinkning nicely tonight, don't see the benefit of much more extended aging.

  • Cork was raised, and I was a little worried that it was not store appropriately. We brought it to La Villa, an Italian restaurant in Westport, drank with Jane and Noelle, our friends and neighbors. It tased fantastic, smooth drinking...

  • Leather, dried berries, flowers, and almond nose. Tannic and dry but with sweet-centred fruit to balance; med-full bodied; long finish.
