Sadly, this was my last bottle, but it was really good. It just goes to prove that the great CA cabs reward patience. With its aromatics and taste of bright red fruit, this wine held up throughout an early dinner and into the Saturday night festivities - Notre Dame defeating usc .... again. It showed on bit of dryness at the end of the bottle. A great wine and a great victory!

What a great bottle of wine! This is what I look for in an aged cab. Beautiful sour cherry & high toned red fruits, integrated spicy mature oak throwing notes of green olives and jalapeno's, tannins still kickin on the back end but very integrated. Slight mint and earth too. Great bottle.

TN from memory. Last bottle, found hidden. Fruit seemed a bit ripe and almost port-y at first. Decanted for an hour. Very nice, mature cab. Some leather, red currants, tannins nearly completely resolved. It held up for a few hours in the decanter until it was drained. If I had more I would drink in the near term.

Paired with grilled tri-tip. Leather and soy, red currants on the palate. A bit of tannin and acidity give it structure. I would guess just past prime and will drink my remaining bottle this winter.

TWATS V; 8/8/2008-8/9/2008 (Château D' Stearns): Perfect color. Now famous TWATSA quote - “Has legs like a Bulgarian ladies shot putter & smells like Cat pee strained through her g string.” Nose of a Pig styie, leather. Dark deep finish, lingering. Room to grow. OK. Bold, old. Lemon Zest late on the great finish. Gab smacking. Late 90’s was the guess. Tim – Aussie.
Performed well despite simple mid range Cab from 91. Two nights later left out uncorked still holding together amazingly. Still deep stewed fruits. Nice finish, damn. This is good.

Paired with braised lamb shanks. On the nose, light currants, cherries and leather. The palate follows the nose. Very nice and at peak and a great pairing with the lamb.

Nicely developed, smooth. A fair amount of fruit left. Not really developing a lot of complexity. Balanced, tannins completely integrated. Nice bottle.
