An extraordinary nose of spice and forest floor that doesn’t quite at this stage follow through to the palate, suggesting it needs a bit more time to develop. It is very very long on the palate, and improved in the glass after an hour or so, showing mainly strawberry fruit. Opened 4 hours in advance and double decanted just before drinking. That felt right.

Wine of the year for me. I can nose it the whole day perfect, chewy palette, entering drinkng window, lively and going strong. Wonderful. Prefer to pop and pour.

Fantastic experience! Powerful, but delicate. Fruit is present, but aromas dominated by sandalwood, oriental spices, touch of peppermint menthol. Develops with leather. Slowly, layer after layer. Wine for meditative appreciation in a company of like-minded friends in wine.
Gros Frere among Top3 landowners in Richebourg after DRC and Madame.
2008 is opening nicely now and a very good buy.

PnP Entering early maturity. Most of the oak has integrated. This shows more of the herbal, floral aspects of this vineyard. Medium body with a very long finish. Got better 2 hours after being opened and served. Lovely bottle, with a long life ahead!
Medium red in color, surprsingly not as brooding as expected from this Domaine, good red fruit nose with fresh strawberries, slightly floral and some candied fruit. Palate already accessible and like the color with good transparency and good complexity, good balance and nice long finish. Good potential here.

This is textbook Richebourg. Dark, broading and vibrant fruit. Massive but still slender. After 2-3 hours of airing it is more or less magic. Just like a perfect sphere - everything is in place. This is why Burgundy is no.1.

Solid Vosne nose. Drinking well now after a short decant. Drink or hold.

Young, lovely nose but closed down in the glass. Give it another 5 years in the cellar.

This was served next to the same wine from DRC 2006. Everyone prefered Gros version. Quality all the way.
