From the vintage from hell. Medium-weight, good crispness and minerality, slight creaminess, slight ginger. Not the best this terroir can produce, but still, quite impressive. Can continue to age for years. Cellared since original release.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Served blind to tasting group. Very ripe apple aromas and flavors that showed the 2003 character that made tasters struggle with whether this was New vs Old world Chardonnay. Good intensity to start, but just moderate length. Good acidity for the 2003 vintage. Drinking well now, should hold well for 5 more years if well stored.

Even decanted still very closed, a seamless wine in great style, no signs of plumpness, exquisite oak is barely noticeable but integrates the wine, flavours of peach and salty butter, great finesse and length. Outstanding.

Seems to be at it's peak in evolution. Very nice weight, light yellow in color, brioche, yellow fruits but a bit short and lacking in complexity.

A typical deep, rich, mineral, slightly oaked Meursault. Ready to drink now.

At Mathieu Viannay: Such a perfect marriage of oak and deep rich fruit, long and wonderfully balanced. Gorgeous

Trip to Burgundy; 3/20/2006-3/24/2006 (Burgundy): Tasting, brief note. Ripe apple and pear with modest mineral textures or acidity. Good fruit concentration.
