  • A great wall of Sonoma yeast comes charging out of the glass, followed by a trail punished duster of fruity horse sweat and trollop twat. Let it never be said that Woot! wines have anything remotely resembling consistency. This apparently emanates from that no-mans hinterland of sublime dreck.

  • Deep dark ruby. Crushed raspberry, leather and earth nose. Medium to full bodied, dirty cranberries, turbo black cherries, pepper, heat, copious sweet tannins, dark chocolate, and a medium finish. Fruit forward but not out of control.

  • Pop and pour: lots of wood and earth, forest and brambleberries on the nose. Boysenberries and cherry mouth. Delicious!

  • Most surprised as to how good this Zin is.
Good tart fruits on the nose, tart rapsberry and boysenberry, leather and fresh tobacco, and other things I can't place. Spicy. Lovely balance, and not OTT. Fresh, with some zippy minerality. nice acid backbone, and even a little soft tannin on the finish. Neatly mineral, and a long long finish, wiht the fruits present still.
Slighty tidddly after hald a bottle of this stuff. Went well with homemade Tamales.

  • Here again, no formal tasting notes as this wine was consumed during the annual Thanksgiving bacchanal at Casa de Rose. Through a haze of turkey, taters, stuffing, and something I can't quite recall, we enjoyed this wine, dare I say, as a means to wash down the components of the meal.

From what I remember everyone found this to be a really decent match for the Thanksgiving flavors. Bold enough to dance with all of the craziness being passed around the table, but restrained enough that no one felt they were getting beat over the head with a high octane fruit explosion.

Moments before unbuttoning my Levi's and going fully horizontal on the sofa, just in time to watch Drew B. remind the Cowboys why they suck, I made a mental note that Roadhouse kicked ass on this wine and I wish I had more in the closet. Fairly pronounced dark fruit on the nose and a nice balance of ripe black cherries and spice on the palate.

If you can, hit these guys up and grab some!

  • I decanted this less than I had the previous bottle, and man did it benefit from it - the aggressive fruitiness that decanting takes away balances beautifully with the spicy burn that is the mark of a great Zinfandel. The result is an incredible wine that balances spice and fruit. I ate with a plate of spicy chili, and it was a revelation - the spiciness and heat of the two complimented each other, while the Zinfandel's fruity front contrasted the earthiness of the chili. Absolutely stunning.

  • A pleasant wine with a strong, spicy finish that stops short of the over the top lunacy of some Zinfandels.

  • Nose:Very fruity. Like a grape and raspberry preserves thats being heated. Taste: super intense blueberries and cream. A touch of tobacco/smoke on the finish. I get something unpleasant at the back of my throat that I wonder if could be smoke taint, but I'm not sure. This wine is otherwise delicious (though def pushing on fruit bomb) and I will definitely be noting future zins from this winery.
