I belatedly found the last bottle of this in my cellar. It was still quite good if past peak. Very dark gold color, almost alarmingly so. It had reduced matchstick notes to start but this dissipated with time in glass. Sweet but not too much so, balanced by light but adequate acid. The flavors were less about fruit and more about brown sugars. We drank this with a Thai pheasant green curry with spice and it really was a good counterpoint to that. This should have been drunk a few years ago but still nice today in the right setting. The dinner combo was perfect.

This has improved since the last bottle a couple years ago. Enough acid to balance the light sweetness here. I can see this as a better choice with pre-dinner foie gras than sauternes, and I have previously had this to accompany Roquefort cheese for dessert - another good way to drink this.

Pinot gris with age! Deep gold. Syrupy peach and apricot along ginger and underbrush. Viscous, only slight residual sugar, which is good as the acid isn't there to balance much more. Likely not much upside but this ought to drink well for several more years.
The 13éme génération is a vendange tardive named in honor of the 13th generation of the Trimbach clan from passerillage grapes. It was made only in three years: 2002, 2005, and 2010.

Pleasing mildly sweet wine that is just perfect for dessert with cheese. Earthy, with light stone fruit and medium acid. We had this with a salty Roquefort cheese after dinner and it was lovely.

Golden colour. Nose with fried apple, other cooked yellow fruit and candied fruit, smoke, bread, and hints of truffle. The palate is semi-sweet and somewhat viscous with a lot of honey notes, some spice, decent acidity, and a long aftertaste. Some mature notes (especially in the nose) but will keep for a long time. 90 p.
The label definitely could have said VT, but no obvious botrytis notes and it wouldn't be a heavyweight VT.

Just past a yellow golden hue. Quite viscous in the glass and showing ambrosia scents with peaches and honeysuckle through a quite long minute plus finish. A tiny concern with acidity dying off a bit at the finish, but a pretty good rendition of an underrated Alsace varietal IMO.

Light golden color. Spicy stone fruit and yellow apple. Viscous, moderate sweetness. Pure fruit but looser structure than previous bottles without as much intensity on the palate. Still very good and in no immediate danger of decline.

Medium yellow. Rich, honeyed stone fruit. Viscous and moderately sweet. Great purity of fruit, but a little fatter and less acidity than the last bottle. Not the usual Trimbach cut. This could have used more tension and snap to balance the richness.

Bright yellow. Gorgeous mix of citrus rind and peach. Essentially Vendanges Tardives level concentration and sweetness leavened by terrific acidity. Another fantastically balanced Pinot Gris from Trimbach which should provide drinking pleasure for another 5 years.

Light golden. Typical varietal honeyed peach. Viscous, moderately sweet, fairly spicy, strong core of acidity. As before, wonderful VT level Pinot Gris, definitely dessert wine rather than something to serve with savory courses.
