High Acidity High Alcohol Medium (+) Bodied Long Finish
Medium (+) Intensity - Lemon, Grapefruit, Peach, Guava, Pear, Orange Peel, Butter, Almond, Honey, Vanilla, Cloves, Limestone, Wet Stone
Mouth watering acidity. Citrus fruits, stone fruits, some green fruits too, buttery, creamy, oaky, minerality, this wine is a full package, you can taste it all and everything is so well balanced. Not those super heavy chardonnay you got from USA and Australia, but you can still feel the weight. An exceptional wine, and I'd say it has entered its best drinking window, drink now, but don't serve it too cold, 12-15°c would be best.

Popped and poured. Gorgeous nose, deep and lemon infused with a lovely spice element. Palate is medium weight, lacking acid but still shows a lemon characteristic and lively texture. Excellent.

Pale gold in color. Looks younger than I would expect after a decade. Citrus and stone fruit on the nose, some honeysuckle. Dry and luscious on the full-bodied palate, with medium plus acidity and notes of white nectarines, and oyster shells. Good minerality, well integrated alcohol and oak. The weight gives this a luxurious feeling that to me is very Meursault. The finish is savory, saline and long.
Bought this at the winery in Beaune in 2013. Glad I waited to drink it. It is drinking beautifully now.
Very youthful pale yellow color. Gorgeous aromas of lemon zest, yellow orchard pit fruits, florals and hint of toast & ginger. A very juicy palate follows through with mouth filling citrus poached peaches/pears, creamy lemon curd, medium acidity, fully absorbed oak and a very long, sweet and spicy finish. This is a wonderful 11 year old white burg.

From a half bottle. This is buttery and rich, with orchard fruits and spices. There is reasonable minerality and some dryness on the finish. For my palate this is at peak drinking.

Pale yellow in color. Nose of orchard pit fruits, citrus, buttered popcorn and flowers on the nose. A silky palate shows lush butter and citrus poached orchard fruits, good acidity and mid-palate sap, and a long floral and mineral tinged finish. This is showing very well.

A little bit ripe and diffuse for my taste. Some banana and tropical notes on the nose, lead to a palate that is maturing but not past its prime. It just doesn't have much energy and cut and comes across a fairly one dimensional.

Blind tasting of 6 Meursaults from 09 and 11. The nose is showing tropical fruits, white flowers, melon and a powdery floral element that seems to be the Bouchard signature in 09. The palate is broad, ripe rich with a somewhat flat low acid mid palate. This is not as compelling as the Bouchard MP tasted in the flight. Groups #4 wine, and my #3 wine, I guessed this correctly.

Hardly any color. Cool green apple fruit, touch of hazelnut, nice mineral crackle but surprisingly unrich and restrained given the vintage, where is the Mersault depth and richness? Not nearly the crowd pleaser that the Pernot Folatieres served alongside was.

Definitely has improved over the last few years since we had it last and is at a pretty solid time in it life. Round and rich, light buttery , still some oaky dynamics but also with solid acidity that provides a good backbone to the wine. Good minerality and could have benefitted from less oak but a very solid and great value Meursault. 91-92

Visit to Bouchard Père & Fils (Beaune): Nose with some yellow apple, a hint of citrus, noticeable minerality, discrete flowery notes, a slightly oily impression. Palate with citrus, mineral, high acidity, slightly spicy aftertaste. Rather ready to drink. Not as "marked by the hot vintage" other than in its approachability. 90 p.

Flight 3, Burgundy, Wine 3 (blind): The wine was medium lemon in colour and offered a rather restrained nose of citrus, apple, grapefruit, toast and well-integrated oak. On the palate the wine showed lemon, apple, grapefruit, toast and a slight bitterness from the noticeable oak, paired with medium-level acidity, a good mouthfeel and very good length. A medium- to full-bodied, elegant Meursault that reflected the warm 2009 growing season well. It improved with air, may be consumed now, and should continue to drink well for another 5+ years.

Very pale, almost no color. Grapefruit blossom and mineral nose with white pineapple and tarragon on the palate. Good acidity lends a very precise mouthfeel. Excellent.

Nose: charming mix of minerality and creaminess. Lemon and croissant. Taste: refreshing minerality and citrusy flavours coupled with mellow layers of butter on top of pastry. Perfect level of acidity, finely balanced, alcohol may be a touch too high for my taste. Long bitter-sweet finish. Very nice.

Aromatic with brioche, toasty note; intense flavors, slick and precise but still with good fleshy extract; good minerality and lemon squeeze finish. Impressive. At the Chateau with winemaker Phillipe Prost.

Opened as one of the wines during the 36th birthday party. In Magnum. Big wine - way bigger, fuller, riper and chewier than the 07' - you could almost eat all the butteriness that was coming out of this Genevrieres. Where's the acidity? The 2nd glass, a touch colder, seemed more balanced, A great wine. Will perform beautifully with heavier meats, even veal. Cheers!

We are big funs of Bouchards' Genevrieres and Perrieres. We consider them great value and buy them year in year out. Still this 2009 feels very young and not really in its drinking window yet. Especially compared tot he beautiful 2007 this seems to be lacking at the moment in nose and mouthfeel. Still dont get us wrong this is a very good, elegant and "feminine" meursalt but we would suggest one waits 1-2 yrs. 90 at the moment but we dont think this will reach the levels of the 2006 & 07.
