Another bottle since 5 months ago. Medium ruby red with orange rim. This bottle had overwhelming tannin, and little fruits. 3 hours after opened, some fruits started to emerge. Toasted barrel, redcurrant, dried berries, brioche, herbs, spices and tobacco.
This bottle, with almost all fruits burned off and plenty of tannin and acidity remaining, might be an outlier due to bottle variations. The last 4 bottles I drank during the past 6 months were all fantastic and had plenty of aging potential.

Orange rim with dark ruby center. Rich and powerful. Black fruits, redcurrant, farmyard, wood and spices. Long satisfying finish. Plenty of fruits, tannin and acidity in the bottle. Wine had good grip, and long aging potential.

Tasted with Xavier94 and I concur with his score and much of his note. But I found this wine to be much fresher with wild berry character. Done blind, I was certain that this was a younger wine than the Santenots. Wrong again!

A bigger, darker and denser wine than the ‘08 Santenots with its somber profile of Beaune sauvage, incense and meat juices with a dark chocolate note, most likely from the oak maturation. A bit drying with less than fine tannins but really calls for the classic Burgundian dishes today. Gratifying and impactful in this stage in evolution.

Started with mushroom aka “fungal bouquet”. Smooth and nice to drink. Opened up quickly within 10 minutes
