  • This is more reductive than the last bottle. The fruit is still pure although slightly faded and the tertiary aromatics are seductive, but she finishes slightly awkward and the sense is of a wine that's now on the slide.

  • The fruits good, but there’s still a touch of reduction lingering, after this time it may not resolve, a shame as there’s some pretty fruit here

  • Farmyard and reduction on the nose. Round and supple Tart dark fruits on the palate before typical 2008 acidity scythes through. There is a fabulously spicy blueberry and chocolate note on the finish. This is maturing nicely and will be lovely to drink up over the next 5 years.

  • Really classic burgundy nose with sweet fruit and a whiff of the farmyard, which made me full of excited anticipation, but frustratingly, it fails to deliver that early promise. Good initial fruit in the mouth but very short finish in which there is little sign of any sweetness, just dry tannins. Opened up a bit more in the glass but the finish remained implacably thin and unyielding. This is my second bottle, but the first, a year ago was the same. Its best showing was with a simple roast meat dish, which was more forgiving. Not much chance of improvement now I would say.

  • It has berry sweetness, depth but is also alcoholic. Not a bad effort but also not al very balanced wine.

  • Fairly dark in colour but medium light body. A little struck match on the nose, on top of some bright cherry fruit, there's plenty of acidity with some decent and pretty ripe fruit fruit, a little very fine tannin coats the mouth after drinking. Not very complex, but a light enjoyable easy going burgundy

  • Medium (almost pale) ruby colour. Combination of red fruits - cranberry, redcurrant and raspberry - and earthy wet stones notes on the nose. Also an unexpected sulphurous, matchstick smell - odd but not unpleasant. Palate is medium bodied, and refreshing, with medium(+) flavour intensity and tannins which are smooth and well integrated. Red fruits again but more sour than on the nose, particularly sour cherries on the finish.

  • Still reductive and very much muted on opening. 2 hours later a concentrated but nuanced nose of jasmine, marmite and beautiful blueberry fruit appears. High acidity on the palate which is medium-light-bodied and softer than last year. Not exactly pretty but certainly is persuasive. Couldn't stop drinking this!

  • Fantastic fruity cedar nose right from opening, even at cellar temperature. Quickly opened up with gentle tannins to reveal considerable structure. My first bottle - and already drinking surprisingly well. Yum.

  • A nice expressive nose of dark cherry, earth and meat. Good depth and complexity, could certainly use better integration and smoothing out, but a pretty nice balance of acid and tannins, spicy and deep dark earth on the palate. May be a bit too much acid for me but better than a lot of the 2008s at the same price point.

  • Reductive, metallic and ultimately chaotic nose with porcini juice, raspberries, sesame oil and matchsticks all elbowing each other in the groin. Pretty it ain't; engaging it is. I like it. The palate shows a slightly more conventional cherry-based fruit character; fabulous acidic backbone and punchy tannins. Certainly needs time in bottle to unravel. Full of earthy, uncompromising character.

  • Funky burg nose, great bright red fruit, has the metallic monthelie thing.... Great acidity. Very good. Great on day two.

  • nose: nice, lighter and feminine nose of red fruits, strawberries, spice tones and bits of earth. Nicely balanced with very good depth for a monthelie

taste: pretty medium body with medium/high acidity as well as tones of red fruits, red florals, spices and bits of earth. The acidity and tannins are fresh on this but do show themselves

overall: this could use a couple of years. A very nice and pretty burg that should develop nicely and show off itself feminine side even more
