Light gold colour, lovely kerosene on the nose. Rich and generous palate with some thin line of acidity still present with lime citrus notes. Long finish. Excellent

GMs - Casual Fridays September 2017: Orange, toast, waxy and floral notes. Quite like the palate, good length with very nice dimension and poise - good aged characters coming through. Nice length and balance, feels like this is drinking well now.

{screwcap, 13%} Well, almost unchanged from my note in May 2011. Semi-mature, but rather hard lemon-tinged wine, still steelishly acidic, but very monolithic in flavour profile; big on the palate, medium-length finish, but such a mono-chrome of a wine that interest is lost fairly quickly. The screwcap is preserving it very nicely, but it's not mellowing with age...

Yellow, with a bit of green tinge. The nose is inviting, the palate is very lemony, with a bit of sherbert flavour at the end. I don't think the palate lives up to the bouquet. Enjoyed this wine, but it is a little one-dimensional on the palate. Nice enough drinking, don't know if it will develop much more?

{screwcap, 13%} I was being a bit social while drinking this, so paid it less attention than I would otherwise. Although there's still a flash of green in the colour, it's hiding among a light golden majority; definitely not yellow any more. The nose is thoroughly developed now, but rather one-dimensional; it's very strongly lemon-scented - almost detergent-like - but without much nuance. The palate carries on the single-lemon theme; there's acid enough to hold it all up structurally, but little complexity to the flavours. It's closing on medium/full-bodied for riesling, and the finish is long enough, but the whole thing remains rather hard-edged and brutal. Unsurprisingly, the remaining half of the bottle had lost most interest the next day. Under screwcap, there's no sign of the wine falling over, but I don't think it'll ever turn into a transcendental experience either.

I don't have much experience with Australian Riesling, maybe only a dozen bottles, but this was only a shadow of what I expected. Most of the ones I have had have been made in a very ripe, round almost thick style. Very lush and filled with fruit without being hot. In comparison, this bottling from the Clare Valley was very dry and thin. It was made more in a style resembling a Sauvignon Blanc but with the burst of tropical fruit. It was crisp and tart but not impressive. 84 points

Holding in there. In perpetual animation it would seem (screwcap + acidity) though I don't think it will improve.

I liked this more than my last bottle of it, but Graeme's TN is fair. A worthwhile aged Riesling, but not what one hopes for in a big name wine.

Nice aged Riesling, but limited complexity. No sign of having peaked.

Sydney MW Summer School; 1/26/2002-1/27/2002 (Sydney Airport Stamford Hotel): Much softer acid structure than the Polish Hill bottling. Warm apple character, but a blurrier presence in comparison. On the lighter side, but still very persistent.
