darkest red, blueish --- Nose fresh, cherries and blueberries, saline, some nutty aspects --- Palate fresh, nice acidity, cherries, orange peel, acidity almost citrus like, like this al lot, some almond, nice tartness, some mint --- Finishes on fruity and tart aspects. Very nice, so tasty, freshness and fruitiness are wonderful, tartness and acidity adding class.

Dark red, purple edges --- Nose fresh, nice green aspects, sour cherry, somewhat cool while elegant, nice wood notes, cardboard, earthy tones, nutty notes --- Palate fresh, watery, red fruit, cherries, some strawberry, almond, nice acidity, so fresh and vivid, classy tannins, medium body, some herbal aspects, again very nice greenish aspects --- Finishes on its tart character with red fruit flashing back. I like it very much, elegant, classy, nice fruit, shy wood aspects with wonderful green and tart nuances. Upside potential.

Decanted for three hours. There is still a powerful heaviness to this wine but it is opening up versus when I tried it a few years back. Very enjoyable.

Darkest red, almost black --- Nose mahogany, red fruit aspects, cardboard, some flowery aspects, rose petals, some lilac, some sweat aspects, vanilla powder --- Palate fresh, watery, classy, red fruit, some blueberry, very nice sour tone, sour cherry --- Finishes pretty long on its freshness, tartness and fruit aspects, some minerality. Nice vine, thin and muscular, nice flavor profile, distinguished, tasty.

Very enjoyable. 3 hour decant. Still very strong. Strong tannin level but not overbearing. Consistent on the palate. Very much a wine for food - hearty meat dishes or cheeses.

Popped and poured and drank over three day. Really oaky at first, but this diminished by the second day. Well made wine, and probably within its drinking window, but it did not resonate with me.

Popped and poured. Obvious herbs, bell pepper, mint, leather aroma on nose. Light earthy and meaty. The palate somehow contains the flavour of unripe fruit and leaves. Surprisingly fresh and herbal for this hot fruity vintage. Nice acidity. Unusual 2009 Bordeaux red. It would be great if you like herbal-driven wine, otherwise it's hardly to be appreciated. Rigid tannin and structure. It's not matured yet and will improve for 3+ years of aging.

No formal notes. PnP. Ruby red with a faint cloak. Classic Bordeaux nose. Well-balanced and structured, with lush dark red fruit. Medium-long finish. Tannins present, but well-rounded. Light sediment present. Just as good on night 2 after vacuuming and left at room temperature. Can sit another 1-2 years.

90-91pts. Nice perfumed cherry fruit on the nose. More of the same on the palate, a touch of oak and alcohol. Lush and opulent. Could probably use a few more years but perfectly good drinking at the moment. Solid wine.

Good bouquet of berry nose wrapped in overwhelming amount of alcohol. Feel like drinking a Piedmont. Full body, not as tannic as expected from both the vintage and typical nose feel, shallow finish. Give it more time.

this is an impressive wine considering it's hierarchy within the mitjaville stable, dense, well balanced and still tannic, this wine is showing how kind the 2009 vintage can be, it will only start to mature in 5 years and hold for quite a few more

Elyssa's 100 day celebration (Table at 7): Generous complimentary bottle popped by Aunt Eugenia. Poured into decanter and drank over 1 hour. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of violets, vanilla, blackcurrant, chocolate, and slight bell pepper. Youthful. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), velvety high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of blackcurrant, blackberries, black cherries, chocolate, integrated vanilla oak, and hints of bell pepper. Medium+ finish. Good quality. A very technically sound and polished wine, ready to drink now. Lacking the special spark to bring it to the next level though. High percentage of Merlot with the rest Cabernet Franc. Previously bottled under the name Chateau Cadet, before it was purchased by the Louis Mitjavile, with the debut vintage being 2007.

Tasted alongside the 2010 vintage. This is flabby and new world. Lots of fruit and concentration but not much complexity, lacks acidity. IMO, not really age worthy.

A nice wine that will have to be revisited in a few years. Lush, soft fruit. Certainly get the plum notes from the merlot. More complexity than I expected.

A real find from my last trip to Bordeaux. Owned by François Mitjaville, who also owns such famous Chateau as Tertre Rôteboeuf in Saint Emilion, which is just a stone throw away from Côte de Castillon. On the nose, ripe black cherry, blueberry compote, cedar, vanilla, spice. Fruit forward, but without being a fruit bomb. The lacustrine limestone based soil (harder and more rockier than the Calcaire à Astéries found in Saint Emilion) seems to impart some freshness on the palate. Medium plus but supple tannins. Long finish with some sweet fruit notes. Can hold for another 3 to 5 years and will improve.

vraiment bon!

Tasted aerated and straight from the bottle...opted to drink without aeration letting it open naturally. Definite cocoa notes on the finish.
Drinking now? Open and let breathe at least an hour but don't aerate.
