I'm a big fan of Rémizières Hermitage Cuvée Émilie. This '96 was singing beautifully. I paired it with rib-eye steaks and it came alive. Blood, graphite, damp earth, and sweet black fruits came jumping out. The tannins have softened considerably. I really liked this and am thankful that I have 4 left.

Bought this just 2 months ago off the shelf from a retail store and upon opening the cork had seepage to within 1/4" of the top, so the provenance was not the best. Restrained fruit initially red and then more dark on the finish. Medium acidity, but little earthiness or pepper, but did get some meaty type notes. This wine tasted a little tired and I think less than ideal storage took its toll on what may of been a much nicer wine.

Decanted for 1-2 hours in the cellar and then served. Classic syrah nose although not over expressive. Some classic flavors but a bit more muted than I would have liked with modest fruit. A pleasant enough drink but not one I would buy again.

this one showed much better than the first, with great typicity...beef blood, dark earthy fruitiness, good length and a beautiful mouth filling concentration. Looking forward to the rest of these!

Some basic Syrah characteristics, albeit muted. Moderate black fruit, some pepper, medium/short length and not as aromatic as one would expect. Not bad, but rather disappointing. Still, bought these quite cheap on closeout...

Very good- lively, deep meaty aromas, with earthy, minerally notes. No need to hold any longer- at peak now.
