Golden, medium(-) intensity. Nose of butter, yellow apples backed by some oak. A tiny hint of VA and almond pulp. Dry, high(-) acidity, medium body. 13%. Mouthcoating. Thick texture. Flavours of oak and dried yellow fruit. Very good length, ending with a slight grip and a bit drying. Well, that was the initial impression, right after opening and taste to check that it was ok. This will be great, we thought. But no. A couple of fridge keeping hours later; developed in opposite direction, against oxidation and dullness. Disappointed. Should have waited to open the bottle till drinking time.

Nose just jumped out of the glass immediately upon opening. A surprise for an 08 Chassagne. beautiful finish, decent acidity, but wonderful fruit. I expected more acidity and some tannins, but those being absent might make the lifespan of this a bit shorter. Tasted with Alex last spring also and it had more acidity then - might be a storage issue with these bottles. Bought them from a consignor. Drink up but still beautiful.

France 2011 - Côte d'Or; 7/8/2011-7/13/2011 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. This brought some really nice complexity on the nose with orchard fruit, minerality, floral and hints of smoke and seashells. Lots of tension in the mouth with great acidity, loads of lime flavours and a long finish. Great weight in the mouth but remains crisp and linear. This is really nice to drink now but it needs a few years. Excellent. 91+
