Subdued nose. Color shows no fade. This wine has become more polished since release. Well balanced, berries and light spice, nice acidity finishes with light tannins.

My last Hartford from my days of buying lots of Zin. Still plump and shows some good fruit at this stage, and but the boysen flavors are a bit clunky with a bit of acidity still remaining. What intrigued me is the lack of heat. Listed @ 15.9%, I expected some booze but it's not showing up. Given the CT window date of 2007, that seems to be about right--drink up.

This wine is not ready, IMO. Was poured from a blind line-up of Zins, tasted fairly into the middle of the flight. Lush, spice and tannic blue fruit. Big finish and some lemony acids. Needs 3 more years at least. I thought this would show better but it would seem this 2001 is not ready to enjoy and so I wonder about the rest of my 2001 Hartfords: vintage characteristic perhaps?

This was pretty much everything I was expecting the 2000 I had the night before to be. Hartford's Zins are delicious, and once the exuberant fruit settles down a few years after release they are complex, well balanced and gorgeous wines. This one was no exception - deep ruby color, with scrumptious raspberry and blackberry fruit on the palate. Very pleasantly medium bodied, well balanced with a satisfying finish

A very nice zin that seems to be fully matured.

JAMMY, RICH, DEEP FRUIT IN THE NOSE WITH A TOUCH OF EARTHINESS. DEEP BERRY FRUIT, PLUMS AND LICORICE IN THE FLAVOR. LONG FINISH.
