Pale yellow core. Intense lemon & stone aromas. Medium bodied, with a rich palate, but still maintaining freshness. Aromas present itself upon tasting, with a bit of fresh quince and buttered popcorn to add complexity. Nice long finish with a touch of chalk & herbs. So vibrant & wonderful. A wine that screams for oysters, crab, or lobster. If you can manage to have them Cantonese style, the match would probably send you toes curled to another dimension. Fantastic 93-95 (now to 2017).

Unlike past experiences, this bottle faded a bit, and the finish began to evidence a bit of a metallic tinge after a short while. I'm hoping for bottle variation, as the acidity and structure otherwise suggest many more years of positive development for this wine, a personal Central Coast favorite.

This is the real deal: a restrained yet luscious Central Coast chardonnay worthy of laying away and ever so rewarding at present. Next time I will try side by side with Liquid Farm, two standout local chardonnays of Burgundian character and quality from what I have experienced.

My God, this is what a Cali chardonnay should be.It's beautiful, with notes of baked apple pie crust, hint of vanilla and stone fruit; very silky and elegant in the mouth, it still has weight to it and great concentration with chalky bits, light fig, minerals and a steely-mineral aspect. Rich and intense in the mouth, but this is not heavy. Very nice L.A.F. as well (long-ass-finish). don't see how anyone could not love this.

A Wayward Lunch That Was Supposed to be All About Central Coast Chardonnay (Santa Ynez Kitchen, Santa Ynez, CA): The best bottle yet of this case, with loads of promise for further refinement with additional age. An irresistible nose of toasted marshmallow, caramel and butterscotch, yet amazingly restrained and balanced on the palate. Unanimous wine of the day.

A Holiday Weekend BBQ (or "How I milked my birthday an extra few days") (Rancho de Los Olivos): This bottle rewarded us with a perfectly mature and luscious example of restrained and elegant chardonnay, more Burgundian than Central Coast, with silky notes of apple, stone fruit, herbs and citrus, through to a long and lush finish.

Really drinking well, without the quick fade and metallic tinge to the finish that characterized my last bottle.

elegant. bright honey and white flowers, hint of oak, but not overpowering or buttery. Will get even better.

Butter, butter and more butter. Like eating buttered popcorn with some butterscotch topping. Not what I want from a chard ... 83

Weighty, viscous on the palate. Concentrated lime, touch of evergreen. Long finish. This is reminiscent of Corton Charlemagne to the 2004's Chevalier.
