Fruit forward on the nose. Cherry, vanilla and light tabaco. Still very earthy...Dark chocolate mid palate, medium finish. A bit sour at the end...Wold buy it again.

I think this could have sat for another year, but the longer it decanted the better it became. One of my guests compared it to some of the Chiantis she has had.

We shared a bottle with five of us along with an excellent meal at Cinghiale. This paired exceptionally well with the food. The taste is memorable with a bit of sour cherry, not too strong on the fruit, some bits of clove, a slight taste of vanilla. The nose is smoky with a small hint of fruit. The aftertaste was especially a nice match with the food. I would agree with the other reviewer that this wine is especially good with food, I think it would be less memorable by itself. Note this was $56 in the restaurant, but retails for about $16 to $25, depending on the store.

Sour cherry nose with earth and leather. Tart cherry on the palate, earthy flavors with leather and faint cinnamon. Very high toned fruit, and somewhat astringent. Nice, but better suited as a food wine. Could probably benefit from a long decant, or more time in the bottle though.

Complex, classy and savory, offering notes of dried cherry, rosemary, rare meat and spice. Medium bodied, savory, mature, complex and restrained on the palate with good intensity to its dried red fruit and spice flavors. A very solid effort that showed particularly well with food.

No detailed notes, but better than expected given how long I left this in the cellar.

Nice weekday table wine. Balanced, moderately interesting. Flavors of cherry and blackberries.

The Wines of Kobrand (Horizon Conference Room): Some richness here. Classically framed. Nice structure with a great acidic spine. Fairly ripe. Tasty stuff. 88+
