shared with pat at selkirk manor. this was on the "close-out" table at wine chateau (metuchen). clean and refreshing but, in line with what others i have found, a bit too much grapefruit. is this what sauvignon blanc is supposed to be about? interesting experience but i think i will stay with hall cab.

Better the second day, I was not expecting it to improve much, if at all, but I must say the more subtle notes came out on day 2. Great summer casual drinker. Wish I had more.

Something about this a SB, agree that the grapefruit is there, but not too acidic like many. This is very good. Perfect for these hot mid- summer days we are having in the Midwest. Good QPR too. Wish I had a few more.

A nose of grapefruit and some spice, light straw in color. A light to medium bodied white, please decant or let opened wine sit for an hour, initial pour has too intense grapefruit taste, softens once opened. With grapefruit, honey and vanilla, crisp and dry, good not great.

Light gold in color. Grapefruit and Honeydew on the nose. Fruity with some body, but a harshness as it warmed. Light/Medium bodied. Bright texture. Medium finish. Drink 2010-2012.

Opened up to have with some prosciutto wrapped asparagus and right out of the bottle, there was almost a bitterness to the first sip. There's definitely heat on the finish and lots of citrus, but I'm thrown off by the not so pleasant grapefruit peel flavor coming through. It's creamy but not really buttery. It's easy drinking for sure. After several sips, a hint of a toasted butterscotch sweetness comes through but it's light.

This had a very ripe, juicy style. Nice nose of citrus and tropical fruits, the palate brought plenty of big citrus flavors as well since it was fermented in stainless steel.

Full of grapefruit and citrus from the first taste. An enjoyable sauvignon blanc, and well worth the price

Westwood Country Club Annual Holiday Wine Tasting (Westwood CC, Vienna VA): apple and pear on the nose with a sharp, hard core grapefruit palate.
