Deep blackish cherry red colour with clear meniscus. Bouquet of black cherry jam, rich vanilla and sun dried tomato. Palate is soft, rich with stacks of sweetish damson, bilberry and black cherry fruit with an elegant oak/tannic/acidic balance followed by a lingering rich finish that involves elements of liquorice and leather. Stunning wine.

Dark and opaque core, soft and smooth on the palate, showing plum, black currant and black berry intermix with earth, leather and barnyard. Showing some secondary development and tannins almost dissolve. I felt that it could be on its last leg although still holding. Wine was kept in ETO wine preserver and I was surprised it was actually getting better on second day, more fruits emerge, firmer palate and end with spicy aftertaste.

Wine Dinner with Wendy and Friends (De Golden Spoon): While somewhat still light and floaty, the cherry fruit intensity is extremely high and is pretty much the first thing that hits on the palate, even cooked, like Kirsch. Top up with caramel and cinnamon, and vanilla pods, it makes this quite a complete feel, and really pretty! Finished pretty long mainly of Kirsch. Won’t consider this complex, but it’s very well made!

Riped berries , toasty baked sweet tart with caramel, licorice nose. Medium to full bodied. Spiced & dried herb palate . Nice ending :) The minerality in this Shiraz makes it special Long legs kicking

Coconut, Baked Apple, riped black fruits forward, plum, cherries, aniseed, clove, bramble, marmalade. So much note in this wine, almost too much..... Palate is great, melted tannins, beautiful texture, non ending acid. Subtle lingering finish. This remains me of another Shiraz which I absolutely adored JJ Hahn 1914 block. That elegant, chic style in a Barossa Shiraz. Another great impression is the freshness of this almost 15 years old .... Akin to an astonished deer in the headlight !

Typical two hands wine. Juicy cassis and blackberry on nose. Palate is just exactly the same as nose, fruit oriented with massive cassis, blackfruits and chocolate. Very sweet indeed, not impressive.

Ripe, generous, some balancing acidity, absolutely no tannins whatsoever. Because of this, made a good match for Indian curry (which brings out minerality and acidity negatively). Crowd pleasing but no one to age at all. Enjoy now for what it is: fruit forward, high quality glugger.

Young looking deep purple colour. Hot cherries and a touch of menthol on the nose. Rich deep fruited taste with a lovely smooth silky mouthfeel. Long smooth finish too, without any obvious heat despite the 15% alcohol. Impressive and with time in hand I feel.

The Sampler Summer Tasting 2013 (The Sampler, South Kensington): Sweaty, marmite-y aromas. Quite a savoury palate but oddly hollow through the mid-palate: there's literally nothing there. I wonder if this is slightly reduced. 16?/20.
