Offered up with pork tenderloin and roasted vegetables. Color is a dark ruby, demure nose of minerals and stone, barely noticeable cherry and black fruit buried there as well. Simple flavor profile of dark plum and prune accentuated on the finish with some pucker. Mushroom aromas on the empty glass as this opens. Last bottle from a case, this has been a pretty consistent albeit simple go to wine that has lost some of it's zing over the years but still a decent table wine. WS highly recommended #29 wine of the year at a 94 was a bit generous IMHO.

Dark red color, complex nose of cassis, meat, and leather. Full and balanced in the mouth. Soft tannins. Went well with grilled beef tenderloin. Has at least a few years left.

Slightly cloudy brick red; chemical, leather high-tone nose; medium bodied with moderate tannins but heavy acidity; anything interesting on the palate is overwhelmed by the acids; redeemed by a long decent finish; WS rated this quite high at release...maybe it was better young

Sunday, August 01, 2004 This is written one month after the Tinsley beach trip. But as I recall, we all enjoyed this wine quite a bit, but for Mark who thought it smelled a bit too much like, uh, garrigue.

Blind Petite Sirah and BBQ: Apparently a Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend. Lemon, white fruit, apricot nose defies the wine's color. Rich red fruit with a citrus streak and a sweet-tart finish. Okay.

Past its prime, but still with good color and fruit. I'm quite surprised.

Christmas Eve group loved it. Similar to previous notes, but seems to be fading a bit.

Good. Wild terrior flavor like musk/funk but in a good way.
