Served to my mother in law, she loves the sweet stuff! I grabbed a taste, the wine is relatively sweet, apricot and lychee fruit, slightly wanting for more acidity to freshen up the wine and give it bite. Soft and simple, tasty but not a re-buy for me.

We had this sweet wine with cake for my 2 sons' party: one turned 21, one just had Confirmation. This wine was a nice addition to the tasty cakes my wife found.

Light dried pineapple and orange blossom honey hints on the palate. Finished strong with sweet cream and Madagascar vanilla. Paired perfectly with Crème Brule topped with fresh strawberry.

Initially opened this bottle on Christmas day, and had a little snip with dessert. Gave it 89 points, it seemed closed and simple, and I did not bother to write a tasting note. Now, found the rest of the bottle in the fridge, 6 days later. This wine has opened up considerably, and smells delicious. The nose has a serious petroleum nuance to it, followed by gorgeous lychee and honey. It smells three feet thick, with layers of complexity and interesting spices and chalkiness coming to the forefront. On the palate, the sweet honeyed lychee fruit gets a zing of orange rind, a hint of minerality, and is very nicely balanced with the ample acidity. The new oak is noticeable on the palate, but is very well integrated.
I completely underestimated this wine, and this is yet another lesson on drinking wines when they are ready; otherwise letting them sit quietly a few days after opened to see what they will become. Bravo with this sweet Chenin Blanc from Washington state.
