AVTG does Gruner Veltliner, blind (Breggo Cellars): Tasted blind. Dull, washed out flavors of watermelon rind and grapefruit carried by a creamy texture and not much on the finish. Needs acidity. Tired. Paled in comparison to the other wines in the flight. Disappointing.

Why is Broadbent making Gruner Veltliner? Or rather, who is making it for them?
In any case: low aromatics, low acidity, but with some texture. Very flat as a veltliner but at $12 and sourced I would guess they are buying bottom of the barrel fruit.

The overwhelming flavor is grapefruit -- not much else. OK acidity.
