  • No formal notes, but this was quite a bit better than my bottle three years ago, so that's a good sign. This wine smelled quite lovely and fruity, certainly showing development, but nothing off putting about it. The prior bottle was quite developed but this one not. Pleasing fruit and tertiary flavors throughout, but nothing old or stale. Tannins are in a good place and I think this wine is very ready to go, probably peaking, and certainly not improving from here. I'll feel free to pop my last bottle over the next few years.

  • Opened a bottle of this at Crystal Jade Prestige (MBFC) over a wine dinner with my wine mates.

Dark brown hues at the rim. Rustic, charming nose with some liquorice.

Tannins still formidable upon opening; sour cherries, leather and plums with a grippy mouthfeel.

Had expected this wine to be more mellowed and integrated.

  • My last bottle. Garnet brown in colour. Still holds its fruit. Sour cherry and plum on the palate. Would not have gotten better with any more aging so drink up.

  • Cork was absolutely perfectly extracted, with just light color at the wine end. Still, showed slightly advanced color and aromas. Some of these aromas dissipated with air time, but it always remained a little funky. Palate entry showed some more tart fruit, but still plenty of leafs and earthy floor notes. Quite tannic as its left on the palate, and this carries heavily into the finish. Very big wine still, tannicly speaking, but again it's showing more advanced notes on the finish, including old wet leafs, plums, dark fruit. But boy is it ever still tannic... going on an hour in the glass it did mellow a bit, but always remained quite grippy. Nice wine, but I worry about its advanced character. Hope to pop another bottle soon and decant it for a while first to get a better feel for where this is headed.

  • Better than the previous bottle - probably because we decanted for a couple of hours and then poured it through an aerator. Smooth and silky. Dark cherries, plum and leather notes. One left.

  • Garnet to brown in colour. Good legs. Smooth and creamy start. Got better as it aired. Perfect with beef tenderloin. I have 2 left in my cellar. Should drink in the next 6 months.

  • The ripe deep colour, with some 'Italian' brown and the round and deep bouquet promised a lot and that went on in the creamy start of the midtaste but than age came through. At the end the wine missed the body and the balance the front showed; still a lovely wine, but drink soon.

  • Earth tones, let breath for an hour or more to really open up.
Use of a decanter is recommended. Good amount of sediment.

  • The last bottle out of a six-pack. Aired 4 hours before drinking. This was tighter than the last 3 bottles this autumn. Still a great wine with some years left.
Good value. No sign of heat or alcohol (14%) from a warm vintage, very balanced.

  • Consistent with earlier note. At it's peak now, better drink up soon. No need to decant, just open bottle 2 hours before drinking. Lovely with mushrooms, steak of moose, red wine sauce and mashed potatoes. 1 bottle left.

  • Måtte bare prøve denne igjen siden det var t-bone steak på menyen idag.
Luftet 3 t i flaske før konsum. Mere brunlig farge enn sist. Samme fremtoning som sist, men litt mindre punch i finish. Definitivt drikk nå.

  • Luftet 4 t i flaske før konsum. Mere kompleks enn forrige flaske i fjor sommer. Kanon biffvin, hatt til mørbrad av hjort med gorgonzolasmør, kantarell og blomkålpure.

  • Decanted for 3 hours. Lots of sediment. Bottle have been standing up for two days before opening.

Ruby red color with a bit darker core.

Smell of earthy tones, crushed cherries, licorice and a bit of cassis. After some while: hint of tobacco.

Taste confirms this and the length is medium. Present tannins at the end and not fully mature yet. Good acidity and concentrated fruit.
A bit rustic style, but I liked this a lot. Had to Bistecca with simple sidedish.

Will contine to evolve and glad I've five bottles left!
