There are some previous notes in the last five or six that is spot on. I bought this bottle at auction and it was a pnp slowly after a glorious bottle Jean Folliard. This wine first sniffs like fresh tree bark mulch from Home Depot just when you first open the bag. There is enough acid to suggest this could last another decade but it’s slightly past peak imo. The fruit still there reminds me of dried plums and English breakfast tea. There is no mistaking this wonderful Bordeaux. I’m drinking better than anyone in my neighborhood and for me that works.

Perfection in a glass. Like previous notes this needs a 4+ hour decant. Once it finally relents and opens it reveals sweet cedar and a depth of stewed plums and thyme that must be tasted to be believed. This is a wine that is getting better by the day….

Cedar infused happiness. This 2000 is just now hitting its stride. Perfectly stored and ready to drink now from a pop n pour night with Gino’s deep dish Chicago pizza this really was fun to drink. Besides a textbook cedar, this has gobs of tobacco and hints of classic lead pencil with soft tannin and a firm, long finish.
