I didn't decant, and in retrospect I really should have. I opened and left it sit for a while. The first glass was probably in 15 minutes or so (forgive me, I was excited...my first Joly wine). It was weird and funky, as expected, but that was just it. Merely as expected. HOWEVER, after roughly an hour it developed into something amazing. It turned into something like drinking a creamy fruit bread. So much so, that I thought my palate was just getting fooled by the bread & cheese I was eating at the time. But nope, the next day, (24+ hours later), I finished the bottle and enjoyed another glass of fruit bread, this time sans cheese & actual-bread. Would drink again in a millisecond.
