GOOGLE TRANSLATION:In the middle of the reign of Carlos III, in the first of the confiscations, the Velázquez family acquired by auction this farm that had previously been owned by the church, hence the name of the winery: the friars. This happened in 1771 and the label of the winery reflects a fragment of the articles of incorporation (544 maravedies is the reflected price). This wine is made from old monastrell vines of around 82 years old. It comes from a single plot known as "Parcelas del Ribazal" with an area of 4.65 hectares at 650 mh. They are glass vines on very calcareous soils (yellow rendzinas) with silts and pebbles. Its remarkable content of silica allows to reduce the activity of the calcareous and favors a good root development, being the roots of the old vines very deep. The wine is aged in 700-liter vats of medium-toasted, fine-grained French oak over 12 months. The result is a cherry-colored wine with a good robe with a purple rim and a nose of Mediterranean character, ripe and with a certain opulence, in which the notes of ripe red fruit (plums and cherries) and the hints of purple flower stand out. on a background of Juanola lozenges, the most surprising comes from the mid palate, medium body, but an incredible sensation of lightness, fresh, with sweet and highly polished tannins, medium structure, slight bitterness and great length. That firm but light structure makes it more versatile and enjoyable.

Nope. Way too early. This is a MASSIVE expression of the varietal. Serious tannins need at least three or four more years. More if you've got good insurance. Bit of Time Traveller's Wife going on here. Intrigued, but come on, this is still a moody adolescent. 16.5 abv. Wait!!
