Lots of oak and dark chocolate on the nose. Blackberry to start, oak and spice in the middle give way to a quick tannic finish. A very well constructed wine, as I have come to expect from Pete & Co.

Smelled like a typical Syrah: Blackberries and ended with a bit of smoked pepper. The taste was a lighter red fruit (strawberries?) which was surprising to me, though the smoky-pepper flavors close out the tasting. I'm not a huge syrah drinker, and this bottle does nothing to change my mind about drinking more of them, though it is not bad by any means.

Not much of a Merlot drinker, but this is a wine I would drink again. Still a little hot on a pop 'n pour, so decant it for a while and enjoy!
