Impenetrable, even after time in decanter. Good black fruits lurking in there, but so reticent they are easy to miss. Strong meaty nose - like sniffing an Oxo cube. Needs much longer to evolve. Half of the bottle left in decanter to try the following day. Maybe worth noting that, when I went to the Chateau in 2002, the owners recommended decanting Le Prestige (as well as Le Cedre) 2 or 3 days before you intend to drink it.
