Luscious fruit and spice, with some smokiness. Is is definitely Pinot Noir, but I agree it is not as 'on character' as many Pinots. Not Burgundian. Very new world with lots of fruit, but the fruit is balanced by a variety of other flavors making the whole package more interesting. I am keen to see if it ages.
Very solid Bordeaux. Nice mellowed tannins and earthy flavor, fruit tastes more cooked or dried than fresh and maybe some slightly spicy roast veggies. Not a 'knockout' wine but wonderful with food (we had meatloaf) and drinking well now. It certainly has a few more years in it.
I really like good Chardonnay with a little age. This bottle was well structured with a good mineral base, and complex perfumed nose. More flower than fruit. Maybe a hint of burned caramel from the age. I don't think it has the complexity or ageworthiness of Burgundy, but still very good.
