A page of history at this point. Ullage less than 3/4". Very reserved on opening. Garnet, a little tawny. Pleasing plum/prune, leather and cedar nose. Pretty unimpressive for the first 15" decanted, then opened up and really showed some deep aromas and full body. Significant tannins, very polymerized and fine grained, kind of fat and with some decent fruit still remaining. Faded away after about 45". Pretty impressive old soldier.

This was very interesting for a 32 year old wine. We enjoyed it with a rich beef stew. It still had vibrant color with very little bricking, and the fruit was still intact. There was a nice slightly barnyard aroma and flavor, which went very well with the beef.

Aged very well! Toasted nut honey flavors, much like a nice, older French Burgundy. Lovely texture. If you like a chardonnay with some age, this is silky, interesting and wonderful with mussels.
