Classic Leflaive aromas of gunflint, matchstick. Very smooth, rich and buttery, a little too fat for my taste, but some minerals and density. Finish somewhat lacking.

Deep rusty red. The nose was initially a little barnyardy but this quickly blew off. I got old leather, wild strawberries, and a strong gamey profile. Perfect balance of spicy red fruit and acid, it had an exotic wild game note that I loved. The finish was long and pure. This has a lot of life left in it, which surprised me, and tasted younger than the '90 and '89 I've had lately. Really impressive. This went the best with my lamb shank of all the reds.

Dark ruby color. Classic Pauillac nose of lead pencil, leather, tar. Very elegant with sweet resolving tannins, none of the astringency I have found in a lot of 88s. Beautiful blackberry, plum, and grilled steak flavors with a long vibrant finish. I was very pleasantly surprised by how this performed. I'll be looking for this at future auctions.

4/5/2022 7:45:00 AM - Hi,
I’ve been looking through your cellar on Cellar Tracker and noticed you have some fantastic wines, including François Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Valmur - have you considered joining Antica Terra’s Collective?
We offer hard-to-find wines to exclusive members, curating rare bottles for sophisticated buyers. The enrollment window is about to open for a limited number of new members - I think you would be a great fit, so I wanted to tell you more.
Here’s how it works; our founder and winemaker, Maggie, selects a bottle for you each month and twice a year you’ll receive 6 or 12 bottles delivered to your door with the option of a selection of sparkling, white, rosé and red wines, or a selection of exclusively red wines.
A few treasures tucked into the founding members’ spring boxes include a 2011 Marguet Pere & Fils 'Sapience' Premier Cru, Extra-Brut, Champagne, and a 2002 Nikolaihof Vinothek Riesling, Wachau.
If this is of interest to you, shall we set up a time to discuss? Or happy for you to email me directly at daniel@anticaterra.com
Best,
Daniel (Antica Terra)
