  • 2013 Lewis Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

The nose is actually quite unassuming, and doesn't hint at what is about to hit your palate. The first impression is, bizarrely enough, of banana, red fruit, and just a hint of yellow peach. The finish is long long long already, and soft as velvet. This is going to be a monster wine when it starts peaking in ~2020.

  • 2012 Favia Viognier Suize

We are brimming with excitement for the release of our
recurrent, intermittent Suize Viognier. Capturing many of the
characteristics we love about Californian white wine, it
exudes sensual aromatics of a myriad of citrus fruits and
beeswax, which are generously supported by a vibrant acidity
with broad density. Dried lemon peel, calissons d’Aix
confections, honeysuckle and crushed stones emerge from the
glass. As you taste the wine, a seemingly infinite number of
layers of flavor unfold: orange blossoms, key lime pie,
Taylor’s Gold pears and fennel fronds spring to mind. The wine
carries the moniker of Marie Suize, a female prospector who
searched for gold in and around Amador during the California
gold rush. Her tireless spirit and dogged determination remind
us of our good friend Ann Kraemer, who tends the Viognier
vines. This wine is not produced every year, and it is with
baited (citrusy, floral!) breath that we share it with you and
    yours!
