Very nice with a 60 minute decant. Don’t think this will improve much from here.

I agree with RayT, the 2016 seems much bigger than prior EE vintages. We had it after a 2014 Tor BTK, and it was a little like going from Smokey Robinson to AC/DC. Both wines had a 60 minute decant. I’d try the 2016 EE again in a few years with a longer decant.

First glass after an hour decant was disappointing. The wine was thin, a little rough, with high toned red fruit (strawberry?) and a funky note. Smoother, darker and deeper after another hour.

1/8/2019 5:50:00 PM - Of course it varies with different wines, but my preferred drinking window for Cabs generally opens 8-10 years after the vintage. But I’m seeing many Cabs from 2012-2014 where 20% or more of the collective Cellar Tracker inventory has been consumed and wondering if I’m missing something. Based on the 2012 Outpost (30% of CT bottles consumed) it leaves me puzzled.

I tried a 2012 Quivet Pellet recently and it wasn't ready. Thanks for the note. I do see lots of people drinking and posting notes on 2013, 2014 and 2015 Cabs so it's not unusual here.
