  • 2009 Trefethen Chardonnay Harmony

Very surprise to the condition of the wine given the fact the it was not properly cellar. The wine is amazingly good and sill holding well, color is golden straw with bricking along the edges. The nose at front showing elegant floral notes with hazelnuts and apples on the back end. Solid palate, crisp up front with light notes of butter, honey, baking pears and a light touch of oak. The finish is silky with a lastly lingering around the edges. Outstanding wine from the producer.

  • 2011 Epoch Estate Wines Tempranillo

An outstanding effort from the wine maker, beautifully made wine that is holding very well indeed. At this stage the fruit is in perfect balance with the tannin, the acidity complements the fruit giving a well balance sugar residual that makes the wine flourish with notes of dark fruits, light wood notes, cocoa, bits of minerals on the back with a finishing of cedar box tobacco which complements the wine to a great finish.

  • 2007 Ciabot Berton Barolo

This is excellent example of a textbook Barolo, in the glass is showing a strong ruby color and very long legs with a brick edge on the ring. On the nose notes of cherry, herbs, tar and hints of dry raisins and earthly dust that rounds up to a lovely smooth bouquet. The palate has a chewy texture and fells bone dry with plenty of fruits notes of baked plums, dark cherry, black tea, black olives and earthly tones. This is a serious Barolo with smooths tannins, well structure, full body with a nice long finish. Very drinkable now which definitely will benefit from decanting now with a few more years of cellar time left. Excellent..
