Popped and poured. Nose subtle floral notes, dark cherry, subtle spice note. This bottle showed well on the palate, opening up nicely after an hour or so in the glass. Dark cherry, dusty spice notes. Very enjoyable and great with a wild boar ragu.

1987 Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve

Stood up for 3 hours out of cellar. Popped and poured, drank well out of the gate with little sediment. The first hour lots of fruit, tannins integrated and a nice sweet cigar note in the background. After an hour fruit began to fade so we quickly enjoyed what was left. Overall another good to very good bottle from the '87 Cali vintage that continues to offer great enjoyment.

1986 Château Clerc Milon

this bottle showed very well. Opened and tasted, then slow-ox for 4 hours before decanting and serving over another 2-3 hours. Was a bit closed at first but after an hour or two began to reveal dark red fruit, wet tobacco, with cedar and a subtle touch of spice. Started out with medium to big tannins, and evolved and mellowed nicely over the course of the afternoon. Served with a Moroccan leg of lamb with younger Bordeaux, including a '00 Ducru, and this wine was the star. Drink now with time in bottle, or wait another few years.
