Certainly not OTH. Meniscus is still red with only a slight tinge. Waited for only an hour and it opens with honey but still robust acid and tannin This is the last bottle and looking back, I am happy that I held on to this one. It still shows the strong cherry characteristic I remember with a trace of herbs at the end.

on opening has medium weight with lovely spicy red fruits mid palate and dusty oak finish. very appealing. day 2, has lost spicy fruit appeal and now is thick and oaky. drink up.

Opened direct fro the cellar, I was expecting the wine to have fallen apart based on projected drinking window. Good bright deep ruby colour and not showing much fade at the rim. Nose lifted well out of the glass with good hints of late summer fruits, on the palate the fruit was clearly still present if slightly stewed hints of oak and earthiness also there, still a hint of acidity on the middle palate but was well enough balanced with the tannins - good length. Clearly at the end of its life but really very enjoyable and fun to see how these wines develop.

mature but not OTH. spicy fruitcake and dark berries. oak is dominant but has softened into the leathery, old chesterfield realm.
nice drinking
