I’m not going to go as far as Prof B but I also did not enjoy this wine. At this point there is an overwhelming astringent characteristic on both the nose (acetone) and the palate. I’m going to assume that this fell victim to VA. In comparison to a 2007 Agharta I recently drank, well there was no comparison. This reminded me more of bulk California swill than anything. I don’t know if it will improve but I’d avoid. Purchased from Last Bottle so cant speak to provenance. That being said I’ve enjoyed a couple bottles of 2014 Wind Gap Woodruff Chardonnay which I also bought from Last Bottle.

Still singing, this bottle was in great shape even with questionable providence from last bottle. Juicy black fruits on the tongue with nicely resolved and integrated tannins. Nose of some funk and game but mostly black fruits. Definitely more new world than old world but with more restraint and elegance. I’d say it’s probably near peak but still could go at least a couple years without missing much. Great juice.

Still a lot of life left in this. Pours light garnet with a good amount of bricking at the edges. Drank over 4 hours with no decanting. Plenty of acidity and still some tannins believe it or not. Just a bit of funk on the nose. Bright cherries all the way down at the start moving to more cherry cola alongside some forest floor with time open.
